Bitget Shapes the Crypto Future with Young talent

What happens when an exchange built on experience directs its energies toward cultivating blockchain knowledge among youth?
As Bitcoin approaches its 15th birthday, two demographic developments have become inevitable. First, it is now possible to plan an entire career path in the cryptocurrency space. Second, a generation that can’t remember a time when “hodl” and “fomo” weren’t words is now reaching adulthood.
With that in mind, copy trading exchange Bitget has launched a global education program. Dubbed Blockchain4Youth, the program is designed to empower and inspire young people for a blockchain-based future. The platform believes that the crypto users among Generation Z and Generation Alpha – those born since 2010 – will play a vital role in promoting crypto adoption. For that reason, Bitget aims to encourage and inspire them.
Blockchain4Youth kicked off in May when Bitget made a five-year, $10 million funding commitment to empower young people’s embrace of blockchain technology by offering them training in the Web3 space. The initiative includes an under-30 hackathon as well as blockchain courses and certifications through Bitget Academy. It also hosts campus lectures in partnership with renowned universities worldwide. Meantime, Bitget has set itself the goal of recruiting – by the end of September – a hundred youths from developing countries in Africa, South America and central Asia in its Builders Program.
Significance of holistic blockchain education for youth
Bitget believes that providing holistic blockchain and crypto education is crucial to equipping young people with the knowledge they need to thrive in the emerging digital economy. Comprehensive understanding of this transformative technology, then, would empower youth to become builders and innovators of the future.
Systematic blockchain courses enable youth to understand foundational concepts, from cryptocurrencies to decentralization. With reliable education sources, they can grasp the bigger picture of how blockchain is reshaping finance, data ownership, creativity and more. This knowledge foundation is key to sparking their interest in joining the industry.
As digital natives, then, young people need to be educated in blockchain technology, which equips them with in-demand skills for the future. Learning to leverage these tools unlocks greater career opportunities in Web3 development, crypto projects, decentralized organizations and other fields.
Critically, proper blockchain education protects young people from misinformation and guides them to make smart decisions. While the interest in blockchain technology is evident among the youth, the lack of structured and reliable educational resources is a hindrance. A holistic approach to blockchain education fills this gap by providing comprehensive courses that cover not only technical aspects but also legal, ethical and economic implications. This knowledge ensures that young learners are well-informed and less susceptible to misinformation.
Blockchain's potential extends far beyond cryptocurrency. Its secure, transparent and tamper-resistant nature offers innovative solutions to longstanding challenges. Providing education about blockchain's wide-ranging applications, from supply chain tracking to crafting smart contracts, empowers young people to explore and create novel solutions, fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
How Bitget achieves this
No doubt, at least some of those promising young innovators will be discovered via Bitget’s under-30 hackathon, now in process on HackerEarth. In partnership with investment firm Foresight Ventures, the hackathon provides developers, designers and other enthusiasts with the opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity around artificial intelligence as well as blockchain.
"Bitget acknowledges the immense potential of young crypto users, who are growing up amidst decentralized technologies. Their pivotal role in driving digital asset adoption cannot be underestimated," said Gracy Chen, managing director of Bitget. "With Blockchain4Youth, we are harnessing their curiosity, creativity and innovation to develop groundbreaking solutions that will foster market growth and advancement."
Bitget is offering $50,000 in hackathon prize money, which breaks down into $10,000 in each of five categories, covering Contribution to the Blockchain Community, Creativity, Viability, Design and User Experience and a dedicated prize for the best female team.
Participants will tackle any of three problem statements:
- Develop trustless infrastructure for AI using zero-knowledge proofs and zk-SNARKs to ensure secure and private AI networks.
- Create an AIGC-enchanted Web3 ecosystem to revolutionize the gaming industry, with a focus on gaming, content generation and AI-based apps.
- Build an AI marketplace that enables secure and transparent exchange of AI algorithms and data, empowering developers and enhancing collaboration across industries.
Some teams even have the opportunity to be featured at the prestigious Bitget EmpowerX Summit, scheduled to take place in Singapore. The summit, which attracts key industry figures and luminaries, offers an unparalleled platform for showcasing innovative ideas to such renowned industry names as Dragonfly Capital, Sandbox and Shima Capital.
Spreading the message
Meantime, the Bitget Builders program reinforces the social aspect of the blockchain world by recruiting and training influencers. So far, the program has found partners in such developing nations as Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Kenya, Egypt, Morocco, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Romania, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia, as well as in mature economies.
“Millennials account for 46% of crypto enthusiasts and 44% of copy trading users are GenZ,” according to Bitget Research. “They will be playing a vital role in promoting crypto adoption, and, therefore, [Bitget] aims to encourage and inspire the backbone of the future world, to join and follow the wave of crypto early.”
Bitget’s inaugural Crypto Experience Day coincided with International Youth Day, August 12. Collaborating with a range of educational institutions and crypto enthusiasts, this decentralized event attracted more than 1,000 participants around the globe.

Experienced hands
It has been known for at least 2,000 years that “experience is the best teacher.” That quote actually comes from Julius Caesar.
That’s why the Bitget team is well positioned to mentor tomorrow’s crypto rock stars. Chen’s team of blockchain early adopters came together five years ago to launch Bitget, which has emerged as the world’s largest crypto copy trading platform. Of course, 2018 was perhaps the most ill-advised time in history to launch a crypto exchange. And yet Bitget turned out to be one of the few blockchain projects from that era to actually thrive, due in large part to the founders’ previous experience in legacy finance. They understood bear markets, anticipated them and planned for them.
The team is thinking beyond cryptocurrency. In a dynamic digital landscape, the latent power of both crypto and its underlying blockchain technology remains largely unexplored, poised to revolutionize industries and reshape our world.
“At Bitget, we are resolute in harnessing this transformational force by engaging with the leaders of tomorrow – our youth – to collaboratively shape a brighter and more empowered future,” Chen said. “Our strategy for crypto education among the young is firmly rooted in four guiding principles that propel our mission: unleashing boundless potential, empowering lives and careers, cultivating capacity and creativity, and growing in harmony.”
