Robert Paul Davis

R Paul Davis is Group General Counsel for the Counting House Services group of companies, headquartered in Canada. He lives and works in the Isle of Man, which he describes as “the best place in the world to live.” A Canadian barrister and solicitor, his practice is specialized in international payments law and technology. He founded the world’s first online currency exchange, Cashbycourier.com, and has advised currency exchanges, banks and governments on tax and payments issues for more than three decades. He also has a strong client list in the internet gaming space, including three which are implementing bitcoin payments structures within their online gaming sites. He has editorial responsibility for the World Payments Guide and “You Can!” – a manual for licensing and running internet gaming enterprises.
