El Banco Central de Jamaica pondrá a prueba una CBDC a partir de mayo
El Banco de Jamaica implementará una prueba piloto de la CBDC en su entorno regulatorio fintech de mayo a diciembre.
El Banco de Jamaica (BoJ) está planeando probar su moneda digital de banco central (CBDC) en mayo y está trabajando con la empresa Tecnología irlandesa eCurrency Mint para respaldar el lanzamiento.

- Según unanuncio El Banco de Japón (BoJ) anunció el martes que, “después de un extenso proceso de adquisición”, había seleccionado a eCurrency Mint para apoyar su programa piloto.
- Entre mayo y finales de diciembre de este año, el banco central de Jamaica pondrá a prueba la CBDC en el entorno regulatorio fintech del banco.
- Se espera que el CBDC se implemente oficialmente a nivel nacional a principios de 2022, y eCurrency Mint será el proveedor, dijo el BoJ.
- Como reportadoSegún CoinDesk, el gobierno de Jamaica considera que la transición acelerada hacia una sociedad y una economía digitales es vital para la recuperación económica tras la pandemia de COVID-19.
