Best Universities for Blockchain 2022: University of Sydney

With almost 175 years of history – making it Australia's first university – the University of Sydney is a public research institution that ranked 28th in Best Global Universities on the US News & World Report Rankings in 2022. The University has comprehensive resources for students and faculty members in various fields, including in the blockchain sector.

Though the university does not have any blockchain research centers, its scholars have published 131 blockchain research papers from 2019 to 2022, receiving 3,146 citations. The University of Sydney's Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Society is one of 25 institutions partnering with the Oasis Protocol Foundation to support the privacy-enabled Oasis blockchain network.
From larger events like The Financial Technology (FinTech) Sprint and The FinTech Boot Camp, to smaller talks like Future Fintech and Fintech, Consumer Right, and Cross-Border Regulations in China and Australia, the University is engaged in discussion over many facets of blockchain and its applications. Similarly, The University of Sydney has also partnered with the Oasis Foundation to support the Oasis network and contribute to a responsible data economy.
The University of Sydney offers a master of science in cybersecurity, two certificates in fintech and eight blockchain-related courses.
