Blocktower Capital is a crypto asset investment firm and portfolio manager founded by Ari Paul and Matthew Goetz in 2017.
Paul has published papers on cryptocurrency lending, the history of money, and applying investment concepts to cryptocurrency. Additionally, he previously managed The University of Chicago’s investment portfolio and endowment fund. Goetz was previously a vice president at Goldman Sachs.
BlockTower Capital was originally funded by venture capital firms Andreesen Horowitz and Union Square Ventures. In addition to managing a portfolio of crypto assets and trading the assets, BlockTower has also invested in decentralized ledger startup Hedera Hashgraph, decentralized marketplace startup Origin Protocol and crypto media outlet The Block.
Matthew Kimmell
Matthew Kimmell is a seasoned analyst with four years experience at leading European asset manager CoinShares. Before joining CoinShares, Matthew worked for US-exchange Kraken and media company CoinDesk. Matthew majored in Management Information Systems (MIS) at the University of Texas, where he also was a founding member of the Texas Blockchain Organization. Matthew holds BTC and ETH above CoinDesk’s disclosure threshold of $1,000.
