About Numbers Protocol
The NUMbers Protocol, anchored by the NUM token, introduces a decentralized photo network via Web3.0. Each photo acquires a unique Web3.0 identity, ensuring one-time registration and monitored modifications. It emphasizes photo authenticity and traceability. Core tech encompasses IPFS/Filecoin for storage, a dedicated blockchain, NFTs for ownership, and C2PA for content provenance. The NUM token promotes content creation, rewards authenticity guardians, and facilitates service access. Metadata splits into private (protected) and public (blockchain). Incentives include: Integrity Reward for authentic content, Verification Reward based on expert-community trust, and Staking Reward. NUM also acts as payment within the network. Incepted in 2019 by Bofu Chen, Tammy Yang, and Sofia Yan, the objective is to fortify photo/video authenticity using Web3.0.
The NUM token is the native protocol token of the NUMbers Protocol. NUMbers Protocol establishes a decentralized photo network using advanced Web3.0 storage and ledger technologies. Within this network, each photo is unique, possessing its own Web3.0 identity and can only be registered once. These registered photos have integral integrity records that capture context, ownership, and creator signature. Any changes or modifications made post-creation are also documented, allowing for the traceability and verifiability of all photos in the network.
The NUM token plays a pivotal role in promoting the production, preservation, and verification of high-quality content in a decentralized photo ecosystem. By leveraging the NUM token, integral players such as verifiers and network overseers are compensated for ensuring the genuineness and reliability of documented images. This token streamlines interactions, facilitating user access to network services. This decentralized photographic structure rests on four cornerstone technologies: IPFS/Filecoin for housing content and metadata; a specialized blockchain for overseeing data integrity; NFTs to log ownership details; and the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) to attest to a media item's origin and lineage. Prioritizing user privacy, the system segregates data into confidential and open metadata; the former remains guarded in a decentralized repository with tight access controls, while the latter is inscribed on the blockchain. Furthermore, the NUMbers Protocol offers three primary incentives: the Integrity Reward for engaging with or crafting genuine content; the Verification Reward, recognizing trust originating from both expert endorsements and widespread community consensus; and the Staking Reward for staking participants, granting them returns and influence over network directives. Moreover, NUM tokens are exchangeable for services within the decentralized photography platform.
