Jack Dorsey’s Square, the point-of-sale (POS) payment processor and the parent company of Cash App has agreed to acquire installment-payment firm Afterpay for $29 billion in the push to offer cheaper, more responsible transactions. This comes on the heels of Cash App’s bitcoin revenue rising 200% in Q2 to $55 million.

“We’re doing it,” Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced Square is building a bitcoin hardware wallet. "The Hash" hosts react to Square's move into hard wallet. Co-host William Foxley raised questions on the high saturation of the hardware market, saying, “I don’t understand why Square wouldn’t emphasize building options in Cash App. If they’re going for convenience, they have Cash App; a lot of features to add there to make it more robust.”
