Telos is a blockchain platform positioned as a third-generation solution, focusing on creating distributed applications that are both fast and scalable. It was introduced in December 2018 with the intent to support the development of future economies and address various global issues. The platform is noted for its governance features, which are designed to facilitate more collaborative and transparent decision-making processes within organizations.
TLOS serves as both a utility and a governance token within the Telos network. As a utility token, it represents a stake in the network’s computing power; owning 1% of TLOS equates to the right to utilize 1% of the network's capability. In terms of governance, TLOS holders can influence the network's direction, including changes in governance, the selection of block producers, and the approval of work proposals. This token empowers users to have a say in the network's development and operations.
Leading the Telos network, Lee Erswell serves as the Chief Executive Officer, guiding its strategic direction and management. George Vernon, in his role as Chief Operating Officer, focuses on the operational aspects of the network, ensuring its efficient functioning. Peter Nguyen, the Chief Marketing Officer, is responsible for the network's marketing strategies, working towards increasing its visibility and adoption. Finally, AJ Dinger, as the Business Development Manager, develops business strategies and forms essential partnerships, playing a key role in the growth and expansion of the Telos ecosystem.
