El Salvador Debt Downgraded to CC Rating as President Bukele Seeks Re-Election
El Salvador is likely to default on a January debt repayment because it has limited market access to raise the funds needed, in part because of its bitcoin adoption, according to rating agency Fitch. Meanwhile, President Bukele announced that he will seek re-election, according to a Reuters report.
