About Moca
Moca (MOCA) is the utility and governance token of the Moca Network, used to support payments, loyalty rewards, identity services, and governance across cultural sectors like music, sports, and gaming. Built on the LayerZero v2 protocol, MOCA enables cross-chain engagement and decentralised governance within the Moca DAO.
Moca (MOCA) is a digital asset serving as the primary utility and governance token within the Moca Network, a decentralised platform that enables an interoperable cultural economy. This network spans sectors such as music, sports, gaming, education, and governance, structured with “subnets” to connect users across various blockchain ecosystems, including diverse virtual machines (VMs), Layer 1 (L1), and Layer 2 (L2) chains. Built as a fungible token (FT) on the LayerZero v2 protocol, MOCA facilitates seamless cross-chain interaction and promotes the key pillars of growth, cultural engagement, and decentralised governance.
Moca (MOCA) serves several core functions within the Moca Network:
- MOCA is used for various payments within the ecosystem, including purchases in digital commerce (such as battle passes and collectibles) and premium gameplay content. It also acts as the primary currency to mint new assets on the platform.
- Gas Fees: Abstracted gas fees enable cross-chain transactions through a single payment token.
- Digital Identity Service: MOCA supports identity verification, creation, and management, with an emphasis on KYC functionalities.
- Reputation Attestation: Users can build composable, reputation-based identities supported by an oracle system within the Moca Network.
- Ecosystem Rewards: Loyalty-based rewards distributed by network partners.
- Digital Asset Accelerator: Loyalty-based access to launchpads and other investment opportunities.
- Pay-to-Reach: Opportunities to amplify reach using reputation as leverage.
- Boost with Reputation: Enhancements in network positioning for highly reputed users.
- Stake-to-Access: Staking MOCA tokens for privileged access to specific areas of the ecosystem.
- As Moca spans multiple cultural verticals (such as music, gaming, and sports), MOCA also serves as a bridge for these sectors, aiming to attract project partners and reward user loyalty through cultural engagement incentives.
- MOCA powers the governance layer within the Moca Network’s DAO (Decentralised Autonomous Organisation). Token holders can vote on Moca Improvement Proposals (MIPs) and influence governance decisions, including collaborative governance across partnered DAOs.
