DeFi, abbreviazione di finanza decentralizzata, rappresenta un cambiamento nel settore finanziario sfruttando tecnologia blockchain, principalmente Ethereum, per eliminare gli intermediari finanziari tradizionali. Consente diverse applicazioni finanziarie, dalle semplici transazioni ai contratti complessi, tramite smart contract che si eseguono automaticamente al verificarsi di condizioni specifiche. Le principali applicazioni DeFi includono exchange decentralizzati (DEX), stablecoin, piattaforme di prestito e mercati predittivi. DeFi offre servizi finanziari come prestiti e opportunità di guadagno di interessi senza la verifica tradizionale dell'identità, facendo invece affidamento su garanzie, solitamente in criptovaluta. Questo settore innovativo promette una maggiore accessibilità e efficienza, ma comporta rischi, come la volatilità del mercato e progetti non regolamentati.
