About Evmos
Evmos, originally conceptualized as Ethermint in 2016 by engineers Federico Kunze Küllmer, Akash Khosla, and Nic Z, is a permissionless blockchain network. Designed for a seamless user experience, Evmos enables the creation of applications that work across multiple blockchains. This cross-chain development approach allows applications to be built once but accessed from various chains, fostering an environment where users can interact with applications regardless of their base blockchain. Evmos is also a hub for decentralized applications (dApps) that challenge traditional systems in sectors like finance and governance. The network's currency, $EVMOS, powers peer-to-peer transactions and interactions with these dApps. Technologically, Evmos stands on a scalable Proof-of-Stake architecture compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine and is built upon the Cosmos SDK, ensuring high transaction speed and flexibility.
Evmos, initially envisioned as Ethermint in 2016, is an innovative blockchain network designed to usher in a new era of applications built by global developers. Standing out for its permissionless nature, it empowers users to start utilizing the network instantly without the need for authorization. The key philosophy driving Evmos is the seamless user experience; it seeks to eliminate the constraints of sticking to a single blockchain, allowing users to access applications without continuously switching networks or transferring currencies across various blockchains. Evmos champions "cross-chain" development, enabling applications to be constructed once and be made accessible across numerous chains. This feature ensures users can effortlessly engage with Evmos-based applications without the concern of their foundational blockchain. Evmos is home to a burgeoning ecosystem of decentralized applications (dApps), which challenge conventional notions in areas like finance, creative ownership, gaming, and governance. dApps, by their very nature, are decentralized, devoid of centralized entities, and instead, place the reins in the hands of the community.
The original concept of Evmos, or Ethermint, was brought to life by a team of dedicated engineers comprising Federico Kunze Küllmer, Akash Khosla, and Nic Z. Their combined expertise and vision led to the creation of this groundbreaking blockchain platform.
