About Tagger
Tagger is a decentralised, full-stack AI data infrastructure protocol that merges blockchain-based cryptographic standards with AI-centric data pipelines. The platform is designed to address the structural limitations of traditional AI data ecosystems—specifically fragmented data access, non-standardised verification, and the high cost of professional annotation—by introducing a global data authentication protocol based on smart contracts, NFTs, and decentralised identity verification.
The Tagger protocol supports secure and decentralised cross-border data collection, labelling, ownership verification, and trading. At its core, Tagger proposes a new AI data infrastructure paradigm it terms DeInfra, enabled through permissionless collaboration and AI co-pilot tooling. The design leverages the DePIN (Decentralised Physical Infrastructure Networks) model, enabling transparent, auditable, and tamper-resistant data provenance.
- Data Authentication Protocol: Ensures dataset ownership via NFT-based digital rights certificates, backed by smart contracts and cryptographic verification.
- DePIN-Powered Infrastructure: Utilises decentralised contributors to populate and curate datasets, enabling scalability and diversity of data sources.
- AI Co-Pilot Annotation Tool: A real-time assistant powered by deep learning, designed to enable both novice and experienced users to perform industry-grade data labelling tasks.
- Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) Verification: Incorporates RLHF techniques, voting-based consensus mechanisms, and hierarchical label auditing.
- Decentralised Data Marketplace: Enables secure trade, lease, and authorisation of datasets with on-chain visibility and privacy-preserving controls.
- Smart Contract Automation: Every transaction, task allocation, reward distribution, and ownership claim is handled through verifiable smart contracts.
- Task Incentives: TAG is earned by data workers contributing to data collection, labelling, cleaning, and verification.
- Access and Utility: Clients and data users spend TAG to create and manage tasks, acquire data rights, and access AI services.
- Governance: TAG holders can vote on protocol upgrades, fee structures, and governance proposals.
- Transaction Medium: All payments, including those for dataset rental, annotation service listings, and marketplace handling, are conducted using TAG.
- Proof-of-Human-Work (PoHW): The issuance of TAG is based on verifiable human effort through a system that records and evaluates contributions.
Tagger was founded by Trevor Xu, an engineer with experience in decentralised systems and education technology.
