Bevor er im November 2018 zu CoinDesk wechselte, war er Chefredakteur von Technical.ly, einer Nachrichtenplattform, die sich auf lokale Tech-Communities an der US-Ostküste spezialisiert hat. Zuvor arbeitete Seward als Reporter und berichtete über Wirtschaft und Technologie für zwei NPR-Mitgliedssender, WHYY in Philadelphia und WXXI in Rochester, New York.
