Privasea is a decentralised infrastructure designed to deliver privacy-preserving artificial intelligence (AI) computation across various sectors including Web3, healthcare, finance, and DeSci. Its core innovation is the integration of Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), which enables encrypted data to be processed without being decrypted. This allows users to retain complete control over sensitive datasets, while accessing AI model training, inference, and analysis capabilities.
The architecture includes several components:
- Privanetix: A decentralised computation layer made up of node operators that process encrypted AI tasks. These nodes are incentivised through token rewards and operate under a hybrid Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake model.
- Decryptors: Designated actors responsible for securely decrypting AI results using re-encryption schemes and private keys.
- Result Receivers: End users who access the decrypted AI outcomes.
The Privasea system includes an Application Programming Interface (API) that abstracts away the complexity of FHE, allowing both users and developers to interact with the system without requiring cryptographic knowledge.
A key use case is Proof-of-Humanity (PoH) validation via the ImHuman app. Users scan their biometric data (face, voice, fingerprint), which is locally encrypted and compared in encrypted form with previously issued biometric vectors stored on-chain. The system then issues a non-transferable NFT attestation confirming human authenticity, without revealing any personal or biometric information.
Privasea’s roadmap includes phased development through a testnet that began in late 2023, with progressive deployments of Privanetix node packages, smart contracts, SDKs, dashboards, and broader cryptographic scheme support.
PRAI is the native utility token of the Privasea ecosystem. Initially launched as a BEP-20 token on BNB Smart Chain, PRAI is designed to become the transaction and incentive layer for the network’s future mainnet, which is being deployed incrementally.
The token plays a central role in aligning incentives across all participants — including node operators, developers, and end users — and is the only unit of account for accessing Privasea’s encrypted AI services.
The total supply of PRAI is capped at 1,000,000,000 tokens. At the Token Generation Event (TGE), 20.6% of the supply was made available, allocated across liquidity, reserve, airdrop campaigns, and an IDO.
The token is embedded in the long-term infrastructure of the network and is used for staking, service payments, governance, and access to advanced identity verification mechanisms.
PRAI has multiple functions across the Privasea ecosystem:
Access to AI Services:
- PRAI is used to pay for AI model execution, encrypted inference tasks, data analytics, and the activation of AI agents within the DeepSea AI Network.
- Enterprises can use PRAI to access confidential machine learning APIs, including use cases like KYC, fraud detection, and biometric validation.
Gas and Transaction Fees:
- PRAI acts as gas for executing secure AI computations and blockchain interactions.
- It compensates Privanetix nodes and other contributors for their computational resources and participation in encrypted task processing.
Proof-of-Humanity Verification:
- Within the ImHuman app, PRAI is required for on-chain identity attestations.
- It supports biometric verification using encrypted vectors such as facial scans, with additional mechanisms for liveness detection and uniqueness validation.
Staking and Network Participation:
- PRAI holders can stake tokens to support the network’s operation, contributing to system integrity and earning rewards.
- Staked tokens are linked to node registration and computation validation.
Governance:
- PRAI grants holders the ability to participate in governance processes.
- Token holders can vote on protocol changes, resource allocations, AI model approval, and ecosystem development proposals.
Developer and Marketplace Utility:
- Developers must use PRAI to publish and monetise AI models within the ecosystem.
- PRAI also governs access to decentralised agent tools and APIs for third-party integration into dApps or enterprise platforms.
Incentives and Rewards:
- PRAI is distributed as rewards to node operators, decryptors, and participants who contribute resources to the network.
- Both static and scaling minting models are implemented, balancing early-stage rewards with sustained investment in computational power.
